Georgia ODAR Offices

If you live in Georgia and are appealing a denied Social Security Disability claim, you will likely have to appear for a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge. This proceeding will take place at the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review, or ODAR. There are several Georgia ODAR offices and, hopefully, your hearing will be scheduled at a location convenient for you.

Because there is a backlog of Social Security Disability appeals, your Disability hearing probably will not be held very quickly. On average, Georgia residents wait anywhere from 17 to 19 months before they get a chance to state their case in person.

It’s important to note that, just because you live in Georgia, doesn’t mean you will hearing will be held there. The Social Security Administration will try and send you to the ODAR office closest to your home, which means some Georgia residents may actually have their Disability hearing at an ODAR office in neighboring Tennessee, South Carolina or Florida.

If you have questions or need legal help, please contact the Disability team at McDonald Law Firm. We have helped hundreds of people through the Social Security Disability appeals process and we can help you, too. We know the system ― and our way around Georgia ODAR offices.
